New Painting 2nd Try

This is the second time I'm doing this painting only this time I've made it larger and I've changed it from black and white to a dark ruby , kind of a black maroon. I have added some cream colors also. I sold the other paintin and hope to sell this one which doesn't require a frame. Look at the previous one and see which one you like better and let me know.

Finally working again

Yes, I'm finally back into the swing of things and putting a little effort into my artwork.  The FAF is getting into gear again this year too.  This year they have decided to do an Era rather than an Artist.  They have chosen Art Deco.  Which is Art from the years 1920-1930-1940.  A lot of posters and architecture, furniture, and modernistic things.  The digital artists, sculptors and jewelry people will have a ball. We are only allowed to do two things this year.  I will participate.  It is going to be a challenge.  I'm posting a pic of a 1/2 colored pencil 1/2 pastel I did of a Golden Retriever.  I call it "My Toppy" or "Top of the Mornin" after our dog because it looks a little bit like our last Golden Topper.

3rd Sargent Painting

Well, I finally finished my 3rd Sargent painting for the VAC's Fine Arts Festival.  Just in time I might say.  I'm not pleased but it will have to do.  I truly am not a Portrait painter and sure coul stand some lessons although, I must admit the picture I had to work from was very fuzzy -- so my painting came out "Fuzzy"!

Framed

I'm posting the Framed "Rosie Marie Louise ".  I even had the name wrong.  But you will see, as I said when you take a snapshot, if you don't know how to take it properly you will get the flash on the glass -- as I did, but it isn't that bad, so I'm posting it so you can see how she looks in the frame.

Charcoal Painting Done

I finally finished my Sargeant Charcoal  Rosie Louise.  I've posted her here unframed because I put er under glass and when I take the picture it would cause a reflection becuase I am not a good photographer and don't know how to take good photographs .  Some day I will learn how to do that.  Any way here she is for what it is worth.  Now on to the protrait.  Don't know how I'll do on that one.  It looks pretty tough as usual!

Just Another WIP

Just got back from the West Coast and will have to get started back on my Sargent's charcoal.  I left "Rosie" at this stage which I am posting here.  I have some more work to do that is for sure.  We are all hurricane shuttered in so I am working only under lights.  I hope when I finish her and start to work on the third painting I can remove the shutters on the windows because I must have light to do an acrylic portrait!!

Another WIP

I have started on number two painting for the Fine Arts Festival only this one is  a Charcoal drawing  Sarargent did  of a young girl. .  Her name was Rosie Marie-Louise Derenburg.  I think she was very pretty.  Perhaps he did this pencil, charcoal of her first before he did her portrait -- but I haven't come across her portrait yet-- but I really haven't searched that much.  Haven't had time yet.  I'm enjoying doing this drawing after doing the "Village Children".  The next one is really going to be a challenge though because it is one of those perfect portrataits.  I may get very frustrated!!!  We'll see.  I'll have to finish this one first and see how satisfied I get with this?!!!
