Finished L'ami Demit

Finally finished this charcoal of Monets.  He did these caricatures when he was a teenager so not too many people are familiar with these works.  I found them interesting and fun to do!

Trying my hand at  a wee bit of Monet's early works.  Wow, He sold these caracatures when he was only in his teens.  Better him than me.  It is beyond me the talent the man had.  I am absolutely  in awe!!  I'm working on a minor work like this and I can't even do  it justice.  Anyway I try!

Fisherman Done

 I thought I'd never get him done but I did!!  Not exactly my best but --- I tried  He is cute don't you think?   a little twinkle in the eye?  Perhaps he is thinking about catching a great big fish????

He is coming along.  This is the last post until he is framed and ready to go.  I'm anxious to get on to the Charcoal caricature that Monet did when he was in his teens.  Not many people are familiar with those.  He sold them when he was 17 and 18  before he learned to paint.  They are very good and show that when he  was young  and at a very young age had so much artistic talent even before he began lessons

New Monet

Having the same problem I had last time.  This is the second time I am posting this.  Why do I have to post twice????  This is my second Monet called " Portrait of Poly Fisherman At Kervillaouen-- I'll call him Fisherman for short.  He is a challenge-- Not as easy as I thought!!  Here is my WIP.

Framed at Noon

I tried to post earlier but something went wrong.  Anyhow I finally  put the finishing touches on my painting, signed it, framed it and I'm moving on to the next one.  In fact it is primed and almost ready to go already.  My back hurts so I'm taking a rest.  Here is Miss Andre Louvray finis!  Hope you Like!!!

Almost Finished Andre Louvray

Well, it has taken longer than I thought but I have been interupted from doing my work with some home problems that had to be solved and still are not.  So I had to put painting on the back burner.  Today I painted most of the day and I think I am almost finished.  I'm very anxious to get on to the next one so perhaps I'm not taking enough time to do my best and-- I keep changing the background.  Well,  Here is still my  WIP.

Andre coming along

I'm still working on my Monet painting.  I'm actually starting to have fun with it now.  This must be how Monet felt when he was getting into it and could enjoy seeing the painting come to life.  I love the colors and experimenting.  I hope it turns out and I don't overdue.  I'm posting another picture along the way WIP

New FAF Painting

We are honoring Monet this year at our Fine Arts Festival (FAF) at the VAC-- Visual Art Center in Punta Gorda.  I chose to do 3 this year.  The first is "Andre Louvray".  Not familiar to many but shows his style-- That is why I like it.  Here is a WIP.

Picture Removed- Why?

I seem to have lost some of my pictures on here.  I haven't a clue as to why they are not still on here.  In an attempt to correct that situation I am posting again.  It so happens that we at the VAC will be honoring Claude Monet this year and the picture that was removed was a reproduction I had done for my daughter- in- law.  It has been so long since I've been on here and things have changed quite a bit.  I've even lost my Guest Book since Slide.com is no longer available so I lost some nice pics of friends and don't seem to be able to retrieve them.  I will try to re- insert my painting "Women in the Garden".
