Previous Post

I posted "Women In Art" from You Tube by Philip Scott Johnson.  It represents 500 years of Female Portraits in Western Art.  The Music:  Bach's Suite for Solo Cello No.1 G Major, BWV 1007 performed by Yo-Yo-Ma.  He was nominated for most creative video.  I don't really like morphing but it seems to work out well in this particular instance.  In fact, I think it is great--- that's why I put it on here!!! What do you think?  Many of you have probably already seen it?

Problems Solved

I believe I have solved many of the problems I've been having making this Blog.  You should now be able to go to Picasa Album (on the right) click on it and get directly to all of the Art I have placed in Lee's Art.  You can also make it a slide show, enlarge or do whatever you'd like to see it better.  You should be able to make comments.  On the Blog itself most people will have to use anonymous when signing in.  I do hope you will share your opinion with me as it helps me decide what I should do to improve.  Thank you for being patient with a novice.

New Post

I found out today, while following instructions from (People who know) that I can actually put a link on this blog.  I don't know anything or where to go for info I just do the best I can.  Well, it seems I now have a link.  And, I hope I can put others on in this manner.  It took a lot of back and forth with those that know-- but finally I think I"ve got it!!  So if you look over on the right hand side and just click on Picasa Albums you should come up with my page that I've been working on.  Apparently that is a "Link".  so we will proceed from here.  Actually, I'm thrilled with this little slide show that showed up somehow.  I must have done something right?  Feel free to add a comment.  I'm now listed on a few "Blogger Sites" so I hope I get some comments!!

Picasa Albums

I really don't know what happened but I now have a slide show on my blog.  I was trying to get just the address on so if anyone wanted to see my Art they could go there.  Now, I've done it and put the slide show on the blog --(not knowing how I did it).  Well at least I can give you this address and maybe you can get to the Album yourself.  www.picasaweb.google.com/LeeBlizard/leesArt.  Try that and maybe it will work better.

Slide Show?

This is a a site you can click on to see my Art in a slide show, I hope!!

Last Blog For the Day

I want everyone to know that I am enjoying trying to make this blog.  As I said before this is the first time I have tried to do anything like this.  I'm still a little confused and I know there is probably a little editing I should learn how to do.  I hope I learn more each time I go on.  The hardest thing so far has been tracking down my Art.  I seem to have it in various places on my computer and it has been hard to get it in the blog.  I think I'm getting better.  Please enjoy what I've done so far.  Thanks, Lee

Business Cards

These are my business cards.  You will notice that I"ve used "Rosalie", (my given name) that was a Pen & ink I did for the cover of my second book.  I use that drawing as  my logo and have put it on business cards, stationery, all purpose cards and many other things.  As you see here I hand paint my cards with different colors .  I do the same with my cards and stationery.  That is what I like about Pen & Ink.  It is very versatile!

One of my Very First Acrylics

I believe this was my second Acrylic painting I did back in the Seventies.  I had done some oils and then decided to take some classes in Acrylics.  I liked them much better because there was no turpentine smell and fuss.  Plus, it was much easier clean up!  Since then I have done many more Acrylics than oils.  The colors are a little brighter I think so if you want the really darks I guess you  shoud stick with oils.  They seem to make a richer and deeper quality painting.  It is only a matter of preference.

Older Pieces

This is actually an illustration from my book "The First Rosalie of Philadelphia".  I had washed it with watercolor and gave it to a very dear friend.

More Ads

I'm posting some ads for classes at PGICA and Edison College.  One may have also been for the Charlotte Cultural Center.  All I know is over the years I've done a lot of fliers advertising my classes and they have really helped me get students!

My Advertisements

I'd like to post a few of my advertisements for my classes and you will see how by scanning my Art into the computer or scanning pictures of my Art made it relatively easy for me to print up ads for my classes.

Cards III

You will see here some cards I have painted.  I started out years ago making my Xmas cards.  This is one of my oldest cards.  Since then I have been able to use a lot of my Art on all purpose cards.  It has been a lot of fun!
These elves are one of my favorites.  I have used them  on advertisements and various other things.

Cards II

I print my cards at home and then hand paint each one.  Before scanners and computers I used to take them to printers.  I would always do them in Pen & Ink, print them, then paint each one differently so I could make each one personal.  Some friends have even suggested framing them.  I was amused but flattered!

My Last Post for the Day

"In Disgrace" is a watercolor.  "Hearts of Flowers"  is an Acrylic.  "Tea Party"  is a Pen and Ink with Watercolor.   All are for sale.  Just E-mail  me if you are interested in any one of these or any of my other works.

A group of Pen & Inks

Our office is decorted with all kinds of African things so I thought this would be a great place for some Pen & Inks.

A Few Pen& Inks

First Acrylics

These are my first Acrylic Paintings.  I had a lot to learn and still do!

Some Old and some New Art

Here you will see some of my older paintings and some newer work.

Some paintings and a Graphite

This Pen & Ink w/Watercolor is called "Granny Sykes".  She is a "Low Country" Woman from the South.  I like to do people and have made a lot of "character" drawings and paintings.  Some people are very interesting subjects!!

I sold a painting similar to this one only the woman wanted a Gazebo in it.  She got her wish I put a Gazebo and a Victorian lady sitting on the side.  This painting is for sale.  "Picking Flowers at the Bridge".  It's an Acrylic painting.  If interested in this or any of the others contact me by e-mail or phone.
I call this painting "After the Wedding".   It is a watercolor. This painting "Samantha's Field" is one of my favorites.  It was done with only two colors; white and Sepia.  It was an unusal affect and I liked it.

Most of the works are for sale.  Some have sold but I always take pictures of my work that is completed.

Books and Illustrations

I'd like to post a few pictures from my two books.

These are the originals which hang in my Studio.  They, of course, are not for sale but the books are.

"Gone Fishing"

This is another example of my watercolors that are for sale.

Watercolor Print

This is a print of a watercolor I did made much smaller.  I'm trying to find the original picture in my files.

Cards

I do a lot of Pen & Ink work.  In fact both of my books were illustrated and the covers were done with Pen & Ink.  I teach Pen & Ink w/Watercolor.  I have made a lot  of cards from my Pen & Ink drawings-- then I hand paint them so everyone gets an original card!

More Paintings

I have made prints of some of my Art.  I sell both original and prints.

"Women in the Garden"

My daughter-in-law's favorite Artist is Monet.  I reproduced this for her and gave it to them as a House Gift

when they bought their new home.

Some more Pieces

I know I should be more organized.  Maybe doing this Blog will help!
